PSD2 — The new standard for online payments in e-commerce stores
What is PSD2?
This is a new European payment regulation that allows banks to establish processes and controls, both in terms of access to online banking accounts and payments made from these accounts (whether by transfer, card or any other means of payment), with the aim of reinforcing the security of online purchases, thus allowing for greater control over payment authorisations.
A ‘strong customer authentication (SCA)’ is applied, through buyer verification and payment authorisation. This system requires the user to combine at least two independent elements to verify their identity. These can be one of the user’s devices, such as a smartphone; a code that only the customer knows, such as a PIN or password; Or a biometric parameter, such as your fingerprint, your voice, your facial features or your iris.
What should you take into account when making a payment with a bank card at telpark?
- When you choose to pay by bank card, you must select the credit card associated with your telpark account and complete the order as always.
- Once you complete the order, we will send the payment request to be processed.
- Once the request has been processed, you will receive a message from your bank on your mobile phone, with an authorisation code or password, which you must enter correctly for the payment to be validated. The authorisation method may vary according to the bank issuing the card.
